Thank you, Iceland

Whilst the recent ash cloud from Iceland’s erupting Eyjafjallajökull volcano may have inconvenienced some travelers across the pond and inflicted a bit of economic damage on the aviation industry, you won’t hear the planet complaining. Why, you inquire earnestly? Check this infographic out, you whiny bitches:

Here’s some perspective:  It took that self-serving, slave-trading genocidal maniac Columbus 10 weeks to cross the Atlantic.

And some more:  When the supervolcano that is the whole of Yellowstone National Park goes off (and it will, just maybe not in our lifetimes), we’ll lose more than a few weeks of travel time. The world will be plunged into a volcanic winter, and we’ll lose about 1/3 of the world’s population, if not more.

Hey, Earth’s allowed to fight back, right?
