Show don’t tell
Superbly simple demonstration of the proposition—that Volkswagen’s eco-conscious BlueMotion technology has the planet’s best interests in mind (at least, the best interests that a non-biodegradable, internal combustion car can have)—with these shrewd new print ads by Ogilvy, Cape Town (as in South Africa, not the misguided town that makes capes).
Donating free ad space to worthy, dark green causes, and paying it off with the simple line, “It’s all about giving a little bit back,” is a classy, unexpected and very un-carlike print execution—even if the donated ads themselves are rather prosaic. But then again, that’s kind of the point.
Bravo to you, Cape Townies.
